The Indian government has given a green signal to tougher guildelines related to piracy on high seas. The Cabinet committee on security, chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has passed the standard operating procedures for anti-piracy operations. As per the new guildelines, the Indian Navy can use force against pirates if Indians are onboard.
