London's New Year's Day Parade

STORY: Around half a million people lined the streets of London Tuesday to see more than 10,000 performers from 20 countries perform at the London New Year's Day Parade.

The parade, whose theme this year was "Hats Off To London, Celebration Capital of the World" featured many of the Games Makers from the Olympics, as well as cheerleaders and marching bands from the US, people dressed as popular characters like Darth Vader, and Indiana Jones.

The event also features performances put together by 33 of the London boroughs.

The procession started at The Ritz hotel at Piccadilly at 11.45GMT and finished up at Parliament Street at 15.15GMT.
