It's bizarre the amount of decisions a CEO or business owner makes every day that are sub conscious and aren't subjected to rational assessment. Before making any little or big decision, just write down quickly the positive and negative ramifications that can contribute to a better outcome. The decision making procedure of investing in a new range of products or hiring or firing an employee can be far much less rational and much more emotional than you would prefer to believe, so sit back and assess the real motivations behind the choice you are making. Is the choice based on a purely business objective with quantifiable factors, or have you allowed your instincts take over?
