In the fight against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad rebels claim a military base in northern Aleppo.

Rebel fighters used fog and rain as cover to launch the attack.

"The attack started at 8AM and it was over at 12PM, and the result was massive."

They found a cache of weapons.

(SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) FREE SYRIAN ARMY (FSA) COMMANDER, ANAS ABU ZAID, SAYING:

"There was a lot of ammunition -- more than 200,000 Russian bullets, more than 50,000 machine-gun bullets, and 3000 hand grenades, offense and defense, also heavy weapons, two cannons and anti air-craft guns."

As rebels sought information from prisoners, they have little defense against government air power and missiles that have left parts of the country in pools of blood.
