Hundreds from the Newtown community gather one week after the tragedy in Sandy Hook Elementary school, where 20 children and 6 students were gunned down.
As the names of the victims were read out, candles were lit in memory of the children, teachers, and school officials who lost their lives in the classroom last Friday (December 14).
"We're a close knit community. And when something like this happens with children in our community, it's like our own children," said parent Jenel Siebern.
Under chilly and leaden skies, students and families paid a minute of silence for the victims that were laid to rest this week.
