PS3 declared the prominent Netflix device, Bethesda confirms the continuation of Skyrim, and Microsoft announces new Xbox 360 bundle, THIS IS NICK’S GAMING VIEW!
Hello everyone and welcome to Nick’s Gaming View, you are here with your host, Nick McCandless. Despite the content streaming service launching on Xbox 360 and remaining exclusive within the video game realm for nearly a year, Sony has confirmed the PS3 is the #1 device for Netflix streaming beating out the PC, Xbox 360, and all other platforms providing the Netflix service. While Microsoft claims to be developing the largest entertainment platform, it seems as if Sony is hanging right in while still focusing heavily on gaming.
While Microsoft’s focus has seemed to drift from gaming to entertainment, Microsoft has landed the Dragonborn Skyrim DLC before any other platform and according to Bethesda, despite Dragonborn being the third DLC pack released for the 2011 release, “we’re not done working on Skyrim content. We’ll let everyone know when we have new details/info to share.” It will be interesting to see where Bethesda goes next with the Skyrim experience, but considering the investment of time and resources involved with Dragonborn, don’t expect anything soon.
Wrapping up Nick’s Gaming View, Microsoft has announced yet another Xbox 360 bundle for the holiday targeted towards core gamers. Including a 4GB Xbox 360 console, Kinect, Nike+ Kinect Training, and a one-month subscription to Xbox LIVE Gold, the $249.99 bundle was developed in conjunction with Nike in hopes that a larger market can be obtained.
