Bread shortages in Damascus and Aleppo

Syrian activists claim that the conflict in the country is causing bread shortages in some areas of Damascus and Aleppo.

A video clip uploaded to the internet said to have been shot in Aleppo on Wednesday shows a long line of people waiting for bread.

Activists also say the city is suffering from electricity and water cuts.

The Aleppo Media Center uploaded a video said to have been shot on Thursday, showing people using a traditional 'saj' stove to make bread, reportedly because supplies from regular bakeries are falling short.

In Damascus, a car bomb in front of the Damascus headquarters for the Syrian Arab Red Crescent killed at least one person according to Syrian state television.

Amateur footage purports to show the aftermath of the blast.

The Syrian Arab Red Crescent has come under fire several times, and its representatives accuse both the government and Syrian rebels of attacks.
