SOUNDBITE: (English) UNIDENTIFIED PERSON SAYING:
"The car started to tilt and started to lift. The wind was just going nuts around us, trees were flying at us, bottles were flying at us and, the next thing you know, this dark shadow is coming towards us. I went: 'my goodness what is that?' to my friend. And we went: 'what is it? It's a boat'."
As locals clean up after the onslaught, military personnel are checking the area for further casualties.
Officials warned the city could see more severe weather later on Thursday.
