My copyright is only on this clip as my review and commentary on some artwork on permanent display in a museum. I did not create the artwork and the purpose of this video is to share my appreciation of it and my feelings about it with you, the public. Aboriginal Australian art is wonderful, indeed. I find it hard to "wrap my head around," but the more I learn about it and its creators, the more fascinating it becomes.
A visit at full price to this museum is usually ten euros. The first Sunday of every month, admission is for free. The museum has ateliers, a cinemathèque, places to eat, gift shops/boutiques, a médiathèque, a theatre/presentation space, and more. There are always several temporary shows running here, and a wonderful permanent collection. It is centrally located in Paris, France and well worth the visit. Accessible for the disabled, if you'd like to make a day of it and spend some money, there is a park (no smoking allowed!), at least one café and bar, and a fancy restaurant -- possibly more. This museum is quite new and an asset to citizens and visitors alike.
Photographs without flash and video clips are permitted in the permanent collections areas of this excellent museum located in Paris, France (Musée Quai Branly), but are usually not allowed in the temporary shows. We saw a show of Australian Aboriginal art (our second visit to this museum for such a subject) and also saw a terrific temporary show with objects from Nigeria, Africa. The two paintings shown in this clip are the personal favorites of myself and my spouse. One is titled "mythological drawings," the other has to do with a "dream of a mountain lizard." "The Dreaming" may not mean what happens while we sleep -- it is also a cultural reference to creation.
