Heavy snow caused a massive traffic jam in Russia.
Trucks and cars have been stuck on the highway, some for three days.
Russian state television channels showed field kitchens operating on the side of the road set up by the Russian Emergencies Ministry.
But many drivers complained supplies never reached them and they were running out of gasoline to keep themselves warm and their engines running.
Russian news agency cited police on Sunday evening saying the length of the jam was decreasing and was no longer than 55 kilometres.
The M-10 highway links Moscow with Russia's second largest city St. Petersburg, and stretched further to the border with Finland.
