Shazia Ramazan comes home from school in the Swat Valley in Pakistan.

Earlier this year she came under gunfire along with her classmate Malala Yousufzai, who has campaigned for girls education.

"Today I was feeling sad that Malala was not with us. We used to go to school together and talk to each other. Today Malala is not with us but I am praying that she gets well very soon, so that we can go to school together and study together."

The attack sparked widespread outrage at the Taliban.

15 year-old Malala continues to recover. In late October her father said she would rise again to pursue her dreams.
