China has carried out its first successful landing of a fighter jet on its first aircraft carrier. It is a symbolically significant development as the country's neighbours are anxious over its military intentions.
The aircraft was home built and touched down on the Liaoning, a reconditioned Soviet-era vessel that came into service this year.
