Elections in Spain's Catalonia region are under way with turnout believed to be at their highest levels since the 1980s.
Polls have indicated that current Catalan President Artur Más, who voted this morning, and his conservative Convergence and Union party will take the majority of the 135 seats in the regional assembly.
