Shi'ite procession targeted in Pakistan bombing

Ambulances arrive at the scene of a deadly bombing that killed at least eight Shi'ite Muslims in the Pakistani city of Rawalpindi.

Yesterday's blast ripped through a procession, also injuring around 25 children.

Angry bystanders gather around the site just hours after two more bombs killed at least three people in commercial hub Karachi.

Most of Pakistan's bombings are blamed on Sunni militants with al Qaeda links, who do not believe Pakistan's Shi'ite minority are true Muslims.

Pakistan's military has been unable to prevent the attacks, despite renewed offensives against strongholds in the northwest.

The attacks undermine Pakistan's security as it prepares to host a summit of eight developing nations aimed at boosting trade and investment.
