Bomb explodes outside Greek official's home

Bomb squad officials lead investigations in Greece after a makeshift bomb explodes outside the home of a deputy prosecutor.

The bomb was placed in the yard of the house in this quiet northern Athens suburb, damaging the windows, a side wall and door.

Three houses and two cars on the city block were also damaged but no injuries have been reported .

The deputy prosecutor, who is known to have handled several serious criminal cases, was at home but unhurt, according to police.

Over the last decade, several small makeshift bombs have exploded in Greece either from criminal or domestic terror attacks, rarely causing serious injuries.

The country is currently struggling through a debt crisis with harsh austerity measures imposed by its government to placate foreign lenders.
