India has hanged the only Pakistani fighter to have survived the 2008 attacks in Mumbai that killed 166 people. Mohammad Ajmal Kasab was hanged hours after President Pranab Mukherjee rejected a mercy plea. It is the first time the death sentence has been carried out in India since 2004.
