Sodom and Gomorrah were, it seems, a group of five cities south of the Dead Sea, then the plain. The five cities were: Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, Zeboiim and Bela or Zoar. Some of the kings of these cities - Bera of Sodom, Gomorrah Birsha, Shinab of Admah, Zeboiim Shemeber of a king whose name is unknown of Bela or Zoar - they went to war against Chedorlaomer of Elam and allies / vassals its Amraphel of Shinar, Arioch and Tidal Ellasar of the Gutimului (Genesis 14:1-2), after 12 years of bondage. The two sides met in the valley of Siddim, where Chedorlaomer defeated and took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah, and prisoners, including Lot, Abraham's nephew, who, after a quarrel between their servants due to reduced grazing area (which we were expected to flock), moved in Sodom (Genesis 14:10-12).

Abraham heard that Lot was taken prisoner, took three hundred eighteen people pursued Chedorlaomer and until caught in a trap and drove to Hoba, near Damascus, recovering it all Lot and Sodom, which them back Bera king (Genesis 14:13-24).
While sitting in Mamre Abraham, God came to him and said he would destroy Sodom and Gomorrah for transgressions that happens in the two cities. Abraham, remembering that Lot is in Sodom, he bargained with God that if there were ten righteous in Sodom, and not to punish them with sinners (Gen. 18:20-32). Then two angels went to Sodom seeking righteous. They were received in the house of Lot, he gave food. But homosexuals, hearing that Lot hosted strangers came to his house to make prisoners two angels, but they dazzle them all who came to the gate of Lot. Angels took Lot and his wife and two daughters and went out of Sodom, which began to be covered by brimstone and fire from heaven. Lot's wife who looked back against the advice of angels, was turned into a pillar of salt (Genesis 19:1-26).
Once you have gone through Zoar, Lot's daughters took refuge in a cave. His daughters, having no part of man have their father drunk and have sex with him. Eldest daughter was born in Moab, Moabites father and youngest born Ben-Ammi, ammoniţilor father (Genesis 19:31-38).
