People pour onto the streets of Gaza City, holding the body of a Hamas military leader killed in an Israeli airstrike.

Despite ongoing attacks, over a thousand people marched for the funeral of Ahmed Al-Jaabari.

The top military commander was assassinated on Wednesday (November 14) as Israel launched a major offensive against Palestinian militants.

Across Gaza another 13 people also lost their lives.

Jaabari's body was taken towards Gaza's main mosque for burial.

In retaliation, Hamas continued to fire rockets into southern Israel, leaving at least three Israelis dead.

The escalating attacks have shattered hopes that a true could pull the two sides back from the brink of war.

The United Nations Security Council has called for the violence to stop.
