Following the rule of King Arthur, the Dark Age of Camelot accounts for medieval fantasy. Since its launch in 2001, Mystic has developed seven more expansions to it. Similar to Realm v/s Realm, players are awarded points when they complete missions by killing enemies of discover secret dungeons. With these earned points, one can buy additional powers and abilities. With 50 levels of intriguing game play, one can surely look for a lot of variety and excitement.
The first expansion to The Dark Age of Camelot accounts for the introduction of the Shrouded Isles. This slot added six newer classes to the already existing 5 classes and along with 3 new races and a brand new zone. The six new classes to be introduced were Reaver, Necromancer, Bonedancer, Savage, Animist and Valewalker. Inconnu, Sylvan and Valkyn were the three races to be introduced. Additionally a new realm was introduced to the old world scenario that already existed. This included more of those epic dungeons that the game is so very famous for. The second expansion that swept the gaming community was that of the Foundations. ‘Foundations’ expansion in the Dark Age of Camelot accounts for player housing along with merchant consignments. This is an interesting expansion whereby players can sell their loot and crafted items. You need to set a shop for doing this. It’s a good way to earn the in-game currency. Three different house sizes are available and players are free to decorate them as they will. Houses also provide safe storage and better options to share items within the gaming realm.
Next came the ‘Trial of Atlantis’. In this expansion are added three newer races by the name of Frostalf, Shar and Half-Ogre. The zone and contents too were improved with better graphics and more realistic environment. You can actually dive into the seas and explore the underwater. This was something unknown with the previous expansions. ‘Trial of Atlantis’ in Dark Age of Camelot accounts for an extra ‘Master level’ whereby you get superior abilities.
New Frontiers was the next expansion hitting the market. Prior to this expansion the different frontiers were separated but this expansion made sure that the whole game takes place in a single zone. The keeps and towers were redesigned and siege apparatus were introduced.
Catacombs witnessed the addition of further five classes by the name of Vampiir, Heretic, Bainshee, Valkyrie and Warlock. Private dungeons are made available to players for their hunting spree. The levels were faster to complete with this expansion. The expansion also included better graphics for all the dungeons sparing Darkness Falls.
