A helicopter launches another bomb assault on the Syrian rebel-held town of Ras al-Ain on Monday (November 12), sending civilians fleeing across the border into neighbouring Turkey.

The Syrian government unleashed its air power with a warplane screeching along the frontier and bombing within metres (yards) of the fence on Monday morning.

Scores of Syrians, including women and young children, scrambled under a wire fence marking the border with Turkey, with the hope of seeking refuge in safer territory.

The Arab and Kurdish town of Ras al-Ain fell to the Free Syrian Army on Thursday (November 8) in fighting that sent 9,000 fleeing in a 24-hour period, one of a largest refugee influxes into Turkey of the 19-month civil war.
