Obama sheds a tear in Chicago

An emotional President Barack Obama thanks members of his campaign staff in Chicago - a day after soundly defeating Republican challenger Mitt Romney.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) U.S. PRESIDENT, BARACK OBAMA, SAYING:

"Even before last night's results, I feel like the work that I have done in running for office has come full circle because what you guys have done means that the work I'm doing is important. And I'm really proud of that. I'm really proud of all of you."

Obama's campaign released the five-minute video of his address to staff at his Chicago headquarters on Wednesday.

The president won the hard fought election with 303 electoral votes as opposed to Romney's 206.
