This was also the Olympic Russian Trials for London. Darya didn't finished on the podium but was quite close by 6 cm. After a controversial dispute about her selection for the Games, the Russian coaches eventually decided to not include her in the Olympic Team.
It has to be noticed that Darya, excepted for 3 weeks in January 2012, was continuously ranked 2/3 in the world from July 2010 to the beginning of June 2012. But this fact was not taken into consideration.
