The world's narrowest home is now a residence for artists in Poland.
There are large mansions and then there is the world’s narrowest house.
Dubbed the Keret House, it is located in the beautiful Warsaw, Poland and measures a little over 47 inches at the widest point.
The smallest area is only 3 feet in width, however there is a bathroom, bedroom, living room, kitchen, dining and work area. The residence is constructed of aluminum and plastic.
It will be operated by the Foundation of Polish Art, serving as a home to artists for time spans of 5 to 7 days. The architect’s inspiration was an Israeli author who is known for his compact stories. The house is named for the author’s family who lived and died in the Jewish ghetto where the house is located during the Holocaust, which also left the neighborhood in ruins.
The Keret House now tops the list of several other narrow homes. The Skinny House in Long Beach measures 9 feet in width, containing two bedrooms, two-foot wide hallways and a bathroom.
Last year, New York’s skinniest home was put up for sale for $4.3 million. The West Village residence, measuring 9.6 feet wide, was built in the 1800s.
