Killer Dolphins Back in Ukrainian Navy

The navy in the Ukraine is training dolphins to handle guns and knives for underwater military protection.

Animals have been used in military for a long time.

Dolphins have been among that group in the past and the Ukrainian navy has decided to bring them back. The Ukrainian navy has recently begun training dolphins at the Ukrainian state oceanarium to assist in attacking enemies. The dolphins’ jobs will include going after enemy swimmers, marking items of interest with buoys, patrolling the waters and investigating underwater mines. The United States began teaching dolphins in the 1950s to detect mines and stop explosions, but the Ukraine has taken it a step further. Dubbed ‘killer dolphins’, amazingly, they will utilize knives and guns, which will be attached to their heads while attacking enemies.

In a similar scenario, the U.S. Navy’s Marine Mammal Program has worked with sea lions. With swimming speeds up to 25 miles a hour, sea lions have an ability to quickly apprehend enemy divers and swimmers. Carrying a clamp inside of their mouths, the sea lions have been able to attach it to a swimmer’s leg, essentially cuffing them in a split second.
