Syrians rush to the site of a plane crash in western Aleppo.

Footage posted online, which could not be independently verified by Reuters, appeared to show the wreckage of a fighter jet.

People at the site say the plane belongs to the Syrian government.

In a second video, a large crowd gathers around the remains.

Armed men celebrate, firing shots into the air.

Government forces have been using air power and artillery to bombard rebel fighters across several fronts in Syria.

More video appeared to show the aftermath of an air attack in Idlib province.

The bloodshed has escalated in recent months, and has threatened to drag in Syria's neighbours as violence spills over its borders.

More than 30,000 people have died in the conflict, which has no end in sight.
