Jerry Lambert, the actor behind Kevin Butler, the nationwide marketing figure for PlayStation has recently found himself locked within legal battles with the company he once highly represented. Filed against the Bridgestone Tires Company and Wildcat Creek, Inc. advertising firm, PlayStation is suing both companies based on violations of the Langham Act, misappropriation, breach of contract, and tortious interference with a contractual relationship. Because Sony's heavy investment within Kevin Butler has been damaged due to confusion of which products Kevin Butler aims to sell, Sony has decided to take legal action explaining the instant removal of the commercial advertising Bridgestone's "GameOn" promotion where customers are able to opt in to receive a $70 American Express gift card or Nintendo Wii Console with the purchase of select Bridgestone tires. While I completely understand the legal side that Sony has taken, curiosity as for the lack of Kevin Butler-based advertising remains in question.
Moving away from the legal side of the industry, Sega has announced that Crazy Taxi, the open world racing game that debuted in arcades during 1999, will be coming to iOS being delivered on iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. With well over one million copies sold on console platforms and demand for the incredibly addictive taxi-based racer on mobile platforms, it seems if everything goes to plan, Sega may have another successful iOS release on their hands. Continuing on the topic of mobile gaming, the recently teased Star Wars edition of Angry Birds has officially been dated by the creators over at Rovio. Set to release, on November 8th, Angry Birds Star Wars will release on a broad range of platforms including iOS, Android, Amazon's Kindle Fire, PC, Mac, Windows Phone, and Windows 8 including Star Wars-themed angry birds. According to the Chief marketing officer and co-founder of Rovio, Angry Birds Star Wars is "the best Angry Birds game we've ever done. It's the best parts of Angry Birds with all new cutting-edge gameplay set in a galaxy far, far away." Will the millions of Angry Birds fans agree with Rovio?
