A remarkable school reunion that beat one in a quarter million odds.

A fiftieth school reunion beat the odds, when all of the former rugby team members showed up alive and well. Calculated at about a quarter million to one odds that they would all still be alive after 50 years, the 16 members of the 1962 Portsmouth Grammar School’s rugby team posed together for the replica of a picture taken when they were all 17 or 18 years old. One of the men who traveled all the way from Vancouver, Canada to attend the reunion is quoted in the Telegraph as saying: “It was fabulous to see all the boys again. I hadn't seen about 95 per cent of them for 50 years. Obviously, everyone has aged but their personalities and characters are all still the same." The old timers met the current school’s rugby team and reminded them how important it is to keep in touch with their teammates after graduation.

In terms of general statistics, a census in the United States says that the age bracket of people 85 and older is the fastest growing group, which means that 70 year school reunions are on the rise.
