Philippine and U.S. troops held mock helicopter raids in their annual joint marine exercises in Tarlac Province, north of Manila, on Tuesday (October 9).

The 12-day bilateral exercise takes place every year as joint military training between the U.S. and Philippine marines under a mutual defence agreement.

Tuesday's exercise was aimed at simulating disaster response situations.

The troops joined helicopter landing exercises with the Sea Knight helicopters, which are normally used for combat support, transport of troops, and search-and-rescue operations.
