A Palestinian boy receives treatment in hospital after being caught in an Israeli airstrike.

The Sunday attack wounded two militants and eight bystanders in the south end of the Gaza Strip.

Two of the wounded are in critical condition.

Hospital officials say the militants were riding a motorcycle near the town of Rafah, which borders Egypt.

Israel claims the strike was meant to target two members of the "Global Jihadist" group, which is responsible for violence against Israelis and weapons manufacturing.

The Israeli military and various militant factions have traded blows several times this year since a fragile cease fire failed.

Islamist Hamas leaders did not immediately comment on the attack, but the group has often accused Israel of escalating the conflict.
