Congress President and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday kick-started her party’s election campaign in Gujarat with a big farmers rally in Rajkot. Sonia Gandhi, while focusing on development, said that the BJP cannot claim the credit for the state’s progress. “It was the Congress that had initiated the development process in Gujarat,” she said. “There have been attempts to hide from the people of Gujarat that the UPA Government has sanctioned fifty per cent more funds than the erstwhile NDA government for Gujarat” she added.
