It's all about graphic stripes and color blocking at Issey Miyake

A slew of colorful and graphic dresses inter-playing stripes with bold color blocks were shown on the runway at Issey Miyake's spring/summer 2013 catwalk presentation on Friday (September 28) during Paris Fashion Week. The collection was inspired by a vision of "vibrantly colored birds alighting on water and flapping their wings," according the show's program. Hence the myriad of hues that converged on the runway as models strutted in a dizzying criss-cross formation. Black and white graphic stripes were blended with blocks of blue, orange, and lime yellow, an effect achieved by double-sided printing in which images are placed on both the front and reverse sides of the fabric.
