Mother Finds Missing Daughter After Two Years - as part of the news series by GeoBeats.
Reports of missing children are heartbreaking, not only for the families but also for the larger community.
In an extremely rare case, a mother has fortunately been reunited with her daughter after two years. The daughter, from Pretoria, South Africa was four years old in March of 2010, when she went missing and her mother spent two years searching with no luck. Recently, the mother was out in public when a child instantly drew her attention.
She saw her daughter walking down the street with another woman. Mom quickly confronted the other lady, who claimed the young girl was her own child, but a trip to the police station changed her story.
The woman reportedly told police that she had a miscarriage in 2008, but she lied and told the boyfriend that she had given birth to a baby girl, but left the infant with the grandmother.
In 2010, she abducted the young girl and brought her home, raising the child as her own. She was arrested and charged with kidnapping, but the real mom states “I never lost hope, I always felt that I would find her alive”.
