Thousands evacuated as Spain wildfires rage

Over 2000 people were evacuated as forest fires swept through areas of Valencia on Monday (September 24), Spanish news agency Europa Press reported.

The fire has affected six municipalities in the area of Los Serranos in Valencia and has a front of between 10 and 11 kilometres in length.

Over 600 fire fighters and 31 air personnel were working to extinguish the blaze in various locations, the news agency reported.
