What I am going to show you now is I am going to show you things that do matter but matter offsite. This is what I do for myself. This is what I do for clients. This is the method behind it.

Again, like I said a couple of times, Google cares more about what external websites have to say about your site than what your site actually says itself. You can say that you are Palm Desert Plumber all day long twice on Sunday and if you got it 7,000 times on your website, Google doesn't care as much as if 7,000 websites outside of your site have a link to your site that tells Google and its algorithm that you are Palm Desert Plumber.

What we are doing here is we build links. As you cruise around the internet or if you want to build your ranking, the best thing you can do is get links back to your website from other places.

There are online directories, there are review sites like Yelp, this also ties in to online directories, there's Yelp, there's City Search, there's Merchant Circle, which is more of a social network for businesses but it's also a directory. There's a bunch of site out there. These will all give you links back to your websites. There's social media which is Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, Yelp has a social component to it. These all allow you to build links.

The problem with these is most of them just give you a standard link. You will get a www.pdplumber.com. I'm just making that up. I'm sure that domain name belongs to somebody but I don't know who they are. Let's just say this is your website.

Any links that you build from social media, review sites, online directories, anywhere where you just punch in your domain name, this is how it's going to display. That doesn't really give you much SEO value although it does tell Google that you are more authoritative than if you have none of these links.

What we want to do is we want to get links that link back to your pdplumber.com website but we want to use what is called Anchor Text.

When you are one a website you will see a link where (we switch over to blue here) we got text written on a website and then you will have a link that will say Palm Desert Plumber.
