"It feels great to be here today, my Latino fans have always been very supportive of me, so tonight it feels nice to kind of give back and to also be honored at the same time for my humanitarian efforts."

The show's executive producer Eva Longoria said the evening highlights the talent in the Latino community.

"We're doing a special tribute tonight with the Olympians. So many people go, 'Ryan Lochte's Latino, and Danell Leyva? Oh my god.' So it's nice to tell their stories and recognize all their contributions."

The award show will air on NBC on September 21.
