United Nations envoy and Hollywood star Angelina Jolie visits Syrian refugees in in the northern Iraqi Kurdistan.
As violence rages in Syria Jolie commends the government for opening its doors.
(SOUNDBITE) (English) U.N. SPECIAL ENVOY AND ACTRESS, ANGELINA JOLIE, SAYING:
"I have been, of course, very encouraged to be here and hear the government speak of continuing this wonderful life-saving open border policy."
The United Nations estimates that more than 250,000 Syrians have fled their country since the uprising began last March.
