Two men in Alaska were lucky to survive after their boat suffered mechanical difficulties while at sea.

19-year-old Ryan Harris and 4-year-old Stonie “Mac” Huffman, planned to spend the day fishing onboard a 28-foot boat.

They were approximately 2 miles away from the shore, when they noticed a mechanical problem and turned back to shore. However, an 8 foot wave overturned the boat.

Harris was able to float in a 4 by 4 foot fish crate and Huffman used a plastic lid and found a survival suit in the water.

The men eventually separated, but after more than 25 hours, they were both individually rescued, after friends reported them missing.

Harris claimed he gave himself a pep talk and sang songs like ‘Row, Row, Row Your Boat’ and ‘Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer’ to keep himself alive.

In another recent remarkable story, rescue workers found an autistic man who had been lost in the Escalante Desert of Utah for 3 weeks.

He barely survived by eating frogs and roots and drinking water from the Escalante River, which he was hiking next to.
