STORY: The MTV Video Music Awards red carpet was filled with slim fitting suits, metallic gowns and colorful dresses worn by music stars ahead of the awards show. Rihanna, Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj were just some of the artists to pose in their fashionable attire. Rihanna adorned a white, backless jersey dress in a new cropped haircut and Swift wore a white pantsuit from J. Mendel. Minaj popped in a black lace jumpsuit with red corset outlines. Katy Perry wore a black dress with floral patterns from Elie Saab and Jimmy Choo shoes. Alicia Keys donned a one shoulder metallic gown. This year's show airs on September 6 from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
