Telemarketer Scares Homeowner With Bomb Threat - as part of the news series by GeoBeats.

Telemarketing calls are considered just a nuisance.

However, a Colorado homeowner got quite a surprise after hanging up on a telemarketer. The telemarketer apparently called the home and spoke to the homeowner, telling him that he had won some money. After stating he was uninterested, the homeowner ended the call but the angry caller phoned right back, saying “I’ve placed a bomb in your house”.

At that time, the homeowner called the emergency operators.

Law enforcement searched the home, while evacuating other houses in the neighborhood and thankfully nothing suspicious was found. Police are trying to trace the number and find the caller, however it has been difficult as the call may have been made from overseas.

Unfortunately, this terrifying phone threat is not the first of its kind. In another report, a 27-year-old man who worked as a telemarketer for a Carpet and Furniture Cleaning company was charged with unlawful use of a telephone. He would write down the phone numbers of people who were rude. Later, he would call and harass them, sometimes saying “You're going to die”.
