In a new video released on Barackobama.com, the U.S. president "calls" film characters 'Harold and Kumar,' telling Kumar he is counting on his help.

The camera then flashes to Kumar, played by Kal Penn, and Harold, played by John Cho, sitting on the couch. Harold asks Kumar who was on the phone, and Kumar replies, "The President."

Harold and Kumar are known for their series of stoner films, including "Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle" and "Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay."

Penn served as the Associate Director in the White House Office of Public Engagement and will host an hour-long livestream program ahead of Obama's acceptance speech Thursday night (September 6).
