Annan quits as Syria peace envoy

Frustrated with the lack of unity at the United Nations, the UN and Arab League envoy to Syria has stepped down. Kofi Annan issued a blistering critique of the world's powers for failing to reach an agreement on how to end the bloodshed in Syria. The United States, Germany and the UK have however blamed Russia and China for Annan's resignation. Al Jazeera's Kriston Saloomy reports from the UN.
