A crowd cheers on three Hong Kong students on a 56 hour hunger strike that gained international attention over the weekend.
They are protesting China's decision to implement a new national curriculum celebrating communism and single party rule.
The students say the curriculum is "brainwashing". Beijing says it is intended to engender national pride.
The three ended their hunger strike due to health concerns but one of the students, Lily Wong says others are being inspired to take up the cause.
"We haven't succeeded yet, but we will succeed. More people have come out and continued the hunger strike. That gives me hope," she says.
Fellow hunger striker Ivan Lam adds that the group is hopeful that they will garner enough support to overturn Beijing's decision.
The three had been camped outside Hong Kong's government headquarters since Thursday.
Their hunger strike is the latest backlash against Beijing's political influence since Hong Kong returned to Chinese rule in 1997.
