The standoff between a suspected serial killer and French police is still continuing in Toulouse.
At the centre of the siege is Mohammed Merah, a 24-year-old French citizen of Algerian descent, who has been linked to bombings in Afghanistan.
Hundreds of police surrounded an apartment block in Toulouse after three officers were injured in a pre-dawn shootout. Merah is suspected of killing three soldiers, three children and a teacher in three separate incidents.
The siege is close to the Jewish school where the children were shot dead.
