Iran's leaders are urging people to vote in Friday's parliamentary elections, saying it is a religious duty.

It is a contest between supporters of the President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad , and the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Opposition leaders are not taking part, because many are being held under house arrest.
