An influential Islamic cleric in Russia's Dagestan region was one of eight people killed in a suicide bomb attack. Sheikh Said Afandi died when a woman carrying explosives entered his home.
The victims were buried later the same day. Russia is struggling to contain an Islamic insurgency in the region following the war in Chechnya.
