Engaged students learn more. The Humanistic Approach may have its drawbacks but the one area where it works is involving the students in setting goals and therefore sharing responsibilty for their progress.One of our English instructors at Tefl International, uses this element of the approach very effectively in his classroom, by encouraging his students to set themselves mini-goals.
