Thousands of Romanians have gathered in the capital, Bucharest, and in large cities across the country for a fourth consecutive day of growing protests.
The marches started out against a controversial healthcare reform bill and widened to include anger over government austerity measures.
Police have fired tear gas to disperse the crowds, and dozens of people have been arrested in a bid to quell the dissent.
