An estimated 16,000 couples get married every year in Mexico City, but nearly half of those marriages end in divorce within two years.
The city governments wants to introduce legislation which will grant couples just a two year wedding license as a way of reducing the high divorce rates.
But in a predominately Catholic country, not all are happy with the proposals, Al Jazeera's Franc Contreras reports from Mexico City.
