Led by stars Kirsten Dunst and Isla Fisher, the cast of the comedy "Bachelorette" arrived on the red carpet Thursday night (August 23) for the film's Los Angeles premiere.

Based on her critically acclaimed play, of the same name, "Bachelorette," is a comedy about women on the verge of hilarious breakdowns, spectacular breakthroughs, and even closer friendships...framed by a bachelorette after-party that takes on a life of its own.

Dunst, best known for her role as the girlfriend of Spider-Man and the heavy drama, "Melancholia," told Reuters that she was happy getting a chance to take on a role that her fans might not at first be used to seeing her in.

SOUNDBITE Kirsten Dunst saying (English):

"For me, I was ready for a comedy especially after something like 'Meloncholia.' I always want to be in different kinds of films, instead of being shoeboxed into one way of people seeing me. For me, this movie was the greatest, refreshing thing to do after something like a heavy movie."

The film also stars Lizzy Caplan, James Marsden and Adam Scott.

"Bachelorette" hits movie screens in the U.S. on September 07.
