Al Jazeera's Andrew Simmons reports from Tajoura that National Transitional Council is not in full control of the whole country but that "this is definitely the end game" for Muammar Gaddafi's regime.

"This storming of the that compound, that five hour battle, was probably, we think, the last big conflict in this whole war."

He says rumours are however abound in the city about both Muammar Gaddafi's whereabouts and about the size of his compound - including extensive labyrinths.

He also says there are reports that Gaddafi loyalist are heading to Sirte, Gaddafi's stronghold where alleged talks are being held by the NTC and tribal leaders.

All supply lines are being blocked off by Libyan rebel forces, he says.
